Description
Malibu is a two-piece set in aqua blue ombre silk. The kurta is long — falling to the mid-calf — with full-length sleeves and a relaxed, slightly oversized fit that is designed to be worn without thought. The ombre moves from a pale, almost-white aqua at the shoulder and neckline, deepening continuously to a clear ocean blue at the hem. The transition is gradual — there is no single point where one color becomes the other.
At the upper back, crystal embellishment is placed in a floral arrangement. The embellishment is on the back, not the front — it is there for the moments when she moves away from the room, not when she enters it.
The crushed silk pants are in the same aqua ombre palette and carry the permanent crinkle texture of crushed silk. They are wide at the leg and relaxed through the hip. The two pieces are designed to be worn together, but the kurta reads equally well over straight-leg trousers or jeans if the buyer prefers.
Silk ombre requires careful handling — the color transition is worked into the fabric before cutting, and no two pieces will dye identically. Minor variation in the ombre gradient is inherent to the process and characteristic of the piece.
Named for Malibu, California — the Pacific Coast at first light, the water moving from pale at the horizon to deep aqua below the surface. The ombre on this piece was matched to that specific gradient.

Care
- Cleaning Dry clean only. Silk ombre is particularly vulnerable to water — even light dampness can cause the dye to bleed or leave tide marks.
- Storage Hang both pieces on padded hangers. The crushed silk pants do not need to be stored flat — their texture is permanent and does not crease further.
- Steaming Steam the kurta from the reverse side on a low setting, 15 cm from the fabric. Keep the steamer moving — silk ombre can develop tide marks if steam concentrates in one area. Avoid steaming over the crystal embellishment directly. The crushed silk pants do not require steaming.
- Ironing Press the kurta on the reverse side with a pressing cloth on the lowest silk setting. Do not iron over the crystal embellishment. The crushed pants should not be ironed — their texture is intentional and will flatten permanently under iron heat.

Measurements
Because our pieces are cut, stitched, and finished by hand, measurements may vary slightly from one garment to another. A variation of up to ±2 inches falls within our accepted tolerance.
No two handmade pieces will ever be entirely identical. We would not want them to be.

Adds full-sleeve lining, inner layering beneath any sheer fabric, and an extended slip through the midriff, so the piece stays fully covered without changing its silhouette or design.
