Description
Mojave Desert is a two-piece set in amber ombre silk. The top is cut as a kaftan-style long shirt — wide through the body, with voluminous sleeves that narrow at the wrist and a deep V-neckline. It falls to the hip and opens along the front hem, giving it a slight asymmetry when worn without a belt. The silhouette is deliberately generous — this is a piece that looks most like itself when it is not constrained.
The defining detail is on the back: hanging beaded fringe that falls from the upper back seam. The beads are visible when she walks, when she turns, when she reaches. The front of the piece is clean — no embellishment, no surface work. The beaded back is the reward for the people she has moved past.
The straight trouser is in the same amber ombre silk — warm sand at the waistband, deepening to burnt amber at the ankle. The trouser is cut straight from hip to hem with a clean break at the shoe. It is deliberately simple so the shirt can carry the visual weight of the look.
The amber ombre of this piece reads differently in different lights — cooler in shade, richer in warm light. It is designed for evening gatherings where the light source changes.

Care
- Cleaning Dry clean only. The hanging bead detail on the back and the silk ombre both require professional handling.
- Storage Hang both pieces on padded hangers. The beaded back detail should hang free — do not fold the shirt across the bead area. If stored in a garment bag, ensure the beads are not compressed against the bag sides.
- Steaming Steam the shirt from the reverse side on a low setting, 15 cm from the fabric. For the beaded back section, steam from further away — at least 25 cm — and allow the steam to diffuse before reaching the beads. The thread securing the beads can weaken under direct sustained steam. The trouser can be steamed from the reverse side on low.
- Ironing Press both pieces on the reverse side with a pressing cloth on the lowest silk setting. Do not iron the back of the shirt where the beaded detail sits — press the front panels only. The trouser presses well on the reverse side with a pressing cloth.

Measurements
Because our pieces are cut, stitched, and finished by hand, measurements may vary slightly from one garment to another. A variation of up to ±2 inches falls within our accepted tolerance.
No two handmade pieces will ever be entirely identical. We would not want them to be.
Make it Modest
Adds full-sleeve lining, inner layering beneath any sheer fabric, and an extended slip through the midriff, so the piece stays fully covered without changing its silhouette or design.
