Description
Elowen is a three-piece set in ice blue raw silk. The peplum top has a sweetheart neckline with thin straps and a fitted bodice that flares at the hip into the peplum. The full surface of the bodice and peplum is covered in hand beadwork worked in soft wavy lines — the beads follow organic curves rather than geometric patterns. The density of the beadwork means the surface catches light from every angle.
The bootcut trousers are in the same raw silk, with a fitted waist and thigh that widens slightly from the knee. At the hem, layers of ruffle trim are separated by rows of beadwork — the ruffle and bead combination creates a hem that moves differently from the rest of the trouser.
The silk dupatta has semi-circle beadwork patterns running along both long edges, with the same ruffle trim finishing the border. Silk dupatta — as distinct from chiffon or organza — has a slight weight and drape that keeps it in place without pinning.
Raw silk has a naturally textured, slightly irregular surface — this is characteristic of the fabric, not a flaw. The texture is what gives the beadwork something to catch against as light moves across it.

Care
- Cleaning Dry clean only. Raw silk and the dense beadwork both require professional handling.
- Storage Hang all three pieces on padded hangers. The peplum top should be hung by its straps — do not fold it, as the beadwork creases at fold points and is difficult to remove.
- Steaming Steam all raw silk pieces from the reverse side only, on a low setting, 15 cm from the fabric. Raw silk can develop water marks from direct steam contact — always work from the inside and keep the steamer moving. For the silk dupatta, steam can be applied from the right side on the lowest setting.
- Ironing Raw silk can be pressed on the reverse side with a pressing cloth on the lowest silk setting. Do not press over the beadwork — beads can crack or flatten under iron pressure. The ruffle trim at the trouser hem should not be ironed — it is shaped by hand and will lose its form under direct heat.

These are inherent to the material and a quiet signature of its authenticity. We believe the beauty of something made by hand lies, in part, in the evidence that a hand was there.
Measurements
Because our pieces are cut, stitched, and finished by hand, measurements may vary slightly from one garment to another. A variation of up to ±2 inches falls within our accepted tolerance.
No two handmade pieces will ever be entirely identical. We would not want them to be.
Make it Modest
Adds full-sleeve lining, inner layering beneath any sheer fabric, and an extended slip through the midriff, so the piece stays fully covered without changing its silhouette or design.
