Description
Melrose is a three-piece co-ord set in printed mustard silk with a black net bolero jacket. The co-ord — a sleeveless short shirt and wide-leg trouser — are in the same printed mustard silk: a warm golden yellow ground with a black botanical leaf print that covers the full surface. The shirt has a round neckline and falls to the hip. The trouser is wide-legged and high-waisted, with the print running continuously from waistband to hem. Black crystal embellishment is scattered across both pieces, placed within the print rather than over it.
The bolero jacket is in black net with sheer sleeves and a short cropped length that sits above the waist. The bolero edge carries pearl and bead trim, and hanging black tassel fringe falls from the cuff and hem — the fringe moves when she does, which gives the bolero a deliberate theatricality that the co-ord beneath it does not have. The bolero can be worn or removed depending on the occasion — the co-ord stands completely on its own without it.
Melrose is the most maximalist piece in the Silk Collection and the only one that makes a clear statement about evening glamour. The mustard and black palette is specific — warm and cool, botanical and graphic. It is not a piece that tries to be versatile. It knows exactly what it is.
Named for Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles — the street that runs between the polished and the unexpected, where a vintage find sits next to a gallery opening and nobody thinks that is unusual. The piece that feels dressed-up and deliberate at the same time.

Care
- Cleaning Dry clean only for all three pieces. The crystal embellishment on the co-ord and the tassel fringe on the bolero both require professional handling.
- Storage Hang all three pieces on padded hangers. Store the bolero separately from the co-ord so the tassel fringe does not catch on the silk surface. If using a garment bag, bag each piece individually.
- Steaming Steam the silk co-ord pieces from the reverse side on a low setting, 15 cm from the fabric, avoiding the crystal embellishment areas. For the black net bolero, steam lightly from the reverse side on a very low setting — net is an open weave and steam passes through it quickly, so less is needed. Do not steam the tassel fringe directly.
- Ironing Press the silk co-ord pieces on the reverse side with a pressing cloth on the lowest silk setting, avoiding all embellished areas. Do not iron the bolero — the net and fringe construction cannot be pressed safely. Steam the bolero only.

These are inherent to the material and a quiet signature of its authenticity. We believe the beauty of something made by hand lies, in part, in the evidence that a hand was there.
Measurements
Because our pieces are cut, stitched, and finished by hand, measurements may vary slightly from one garment to another. A variation of up to ±2 inches falls within our accepted tolerance.
No two handmade pieces will ever be entirely identical. We would not want them to be.
Make it Modest
Adds full-sleeve lining, inner layering beneath any sheer fabric, and an extended slip through the midriff, so the piece stays fully covered without changing its silhouette or design.
